"This book is different from all other weight loss books because it focuses on the power of the mind to create a lifestyle that normalizes weight... By creating the healthy lifestyle outlined in these pages... you will discover that you are eating what you want and maintaining a healthy weight." From the Foreword by Dr. Andrew Weil

"It was Descartes who created dualism, suggesting that we are two distinct and unique characteristics: the head above, the body below. We have been living with this mechanistic view of ourselves for nearly 300 years. Building upon the work of the 1960’s and the self-actualization movement embodied in the Esalon Institute are George Leonard, author of The Silent Pulse, Marilyn Ferguson of The Aquarian Conspiracy , and Fritjof Capra of The Turning Point: Science, Society, and the Rising Culture. Now after almost 35 years, there is a new self-actualization movement, building upon the first by assisting people in realizing they are what they think; and therefore, there is a seamless body-mind connection and that only by believing in the complete and inner beauty and love of your authentic self can you surrender the highly reactionary defensive conditioned self. The new book, The Self-Hypnosis Diet, by Steven and Joy Gurgevich, makes an impressive contribution to the next step in our self-actualization movement. This book is meant to empower. Chapter after chapter it shows how to free your mind and your body will follow. I highly recommend it." Gary Null, PhD, America’s leading Health and Nutrition Expert, Alternative Medicine and Natural Healing Advocate, Award-Winning Talk Radio Host, Documentary Filmmaker & Investigative Reporter

"The human mind has enormous power, and I've long felt it is a shame that this power is not more often and more effectively harnessed on behalf of healing. In The Self-Hypnosis Diet, Steven and Joy Gurgevich show you how to enlist the tremendous potentials that exist in the depths of your psyche. Whether you are wanting to achieve a healthier weight or deal with a particular physical problem, or simply want to optimize your overall wellness, this is a fabulous tool." John Robbins, Author of Healthy at 100 and Diet for a New America

"If you imagine your perfect weight, it will come, and oh so naturally and easily, with the wisdom, guidance, and hope the Gurgeviches serve up in The Self-Hypnosis Diet." Jean Fain, LICSW, Teaching Associate in Psychiatry, Harvard Medical School

I cannot recommend this strongly enough. I used it several years ago when I needed that extra push to meet my weight management goals. Then when I regained the weight due to developing health issues and their accompanying medications, I was struggling (like I never had in my life!)to get my health and fitness back. Once I'd mitigated the health concerns I popped this cd back in and BINGO! I'm finally making progress again. I'm putting Me back together again. But this time I'm focusing on the SelfLove messages and I'm finding a new enthusiasm for my journey back to health and fitness. I'm so grateful for Dr. Gurgevich's work.

It seems that I have struggled to maintain a healthy weight even when I was in elementary school. Now that I am in my 50s, the weight issues have not gotten any easier. When I saw the "Self Hypnosis Diet" book advertised, I became interested because it sounded so easy. And, when I tried it, I was able to take off those last few pounds that always seem to haunt me. Interestingly, I'm convinced that success in one area of health makes one become confident that there are other worthy goals out there. Last fall I became interested in training for a Century Bike Event. Since starting this serious training (I'm now riding about 150 miles per week.), my weight is up maybe 2 pounds. However, this book also helps me through my training. At first, given the intensity of the workouts, I turned to donuts for fuel. Now, some days I read just a few pages of the book to refresh my aim, and I'm focusing on nutrition.
